Cannon Afros wins again Best Practices Award for Innovation

Best Practices Award Ceremony in Salerno

AFROS S.P.A. CRESIM PROJECT WAS HONORED WITH "SALERNO BEST PRACTICES AUDIENCE" AWARD

On June 12, 2015 the Industrial Association of Salerno granted Afros with their prestigious award for the innovation

Cannon Afros S.p.A. has been awarded for the second time in three years with the Audience Prize at the 9th Premio Best Practices per l’Innovazione (Best Practices Award for Innovation) held by Confindustria di Salerno, the Industrial Association of Salerno, Italy.

After the first success obtained thanks to the ESTRIM (Epoxy Structural Reaction Injection Moulding) technology, the next winning project has been Afros’ CRESIM, which Cannon Group is leading and the European Union program Life+ is co-financing. It is finalised to the development and demonstration of innovative processes for fine-tuning, prototyping and launching on the market the re-use of recycled Carbon Fibre, obtained by very expensive scraps that are a classified waste, whose disposal by means of landfilling would otherwise have a high negative impact on the environment.

The innovative and environmentally friendly nature of the CRESIM project, together with the economic and technological advantages that the process can provide, convinced the participants at the event of the excellence of Afros actions within the research program.

We would like to thank Confindustria di Salerno for the award and for the visibility that they provide to Italian industries and start-ups. Cannon Afros R&D department once more accomplished the mission of keeping our company successful through their creativity and competence.
